Growing in the Word & Going with the Word
Our Faith:
On the basis of God’s Holy Word, the Bible, we believe, teach and confess:
- There is one God. He has revealed himself to be the Triune God, three distinct persons in one God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19).
- This is the God who inspired the prophets and the apostles to record his Word. Therefore the Bible is without error and infallible (2 Peter 1:20,21).
- By his almighty power, God created the heavens and the earth in six normal days. His great love for mankind was evident in his creating the first man and woman holy and without sin (Genesis 1,2).
- Because the first man and woman disobeyed God, now all people are conceived and born in sin (Psalm 51:5) and throughout their lives commit sin in thought, word and deed (Genesis 8:21). As a result all people are naturally under God’s condemnation, deserving of his anger and eternal punishment (Romans 3:23; 6:23).
- God so loved the world that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Savior (John 3:16). The Father placed on him all the guilt of the world (Isaiah 53:6). Because Jesus died our substitute, God will no longer count our sins against us (2 Corinthians 5:19).
- God raised Jesus from the dead, giving us the certainty of salvation (John 14:19).
- By faith in Jesus as our Savior we have the forgiveness of all our sins and the sure hope of eternal life (Acts 16:31).
- The Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper assure us of this forgiveness. In Baptism the Holy Spirit is active, washing away sin, bringing infants to faith and strengthening the faith of adults (Titus 3:5). In the Lord’s Supper Jesus has promised that his body and blood are present in the bread and wine as a personal assurance of forgiveness (Matthew 26:26).
- At death our soul goes to be with God in heaven (Luke 23:43).
- At the end of the world Jesus will come back to judge the living and the dead. He will raise up all the dead, and give eternal life to all who believe in him (John 5:28-29; 6:40).

- We want people to be able to establish or renew a proper relationship with God in a comfortable way.
- We want everyone to feel welcome in our church without feeling like they must commit or join, that is, unless God himself moves them to do so.

- We conduct a Bible information course several times each year. This course serves a dual role: as an introduction to the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Information Before Leaving Earth) and also to the teachings of the Evangelical (which means: good news preaching) Lutheran Church.
